This makes most people believe that if they are not interested then something is 'wrong' with them, that they must be strange/weird if they do not take an interest. So they 'get involved' and propagate the gossip! It's all a load of rubbish of course, but it's rubbish that doesn't require and real intelligence. As a nation/nations we are all being fed mind candy...it represses any real thought, thought that might make people ask difficult/searching questions, and of course that suits any government. |
